Fraunhofer EMI Presented Research on High-g Shock Testing at Enforce Tac 2026

6 July, 2026

As part of its ongoing activities within the OPERANT project, Fraunhofer EMI participated in Enforce Tac 2026 in Nuremberg, Germany, where it presented its work on the generation and measurement of long-duration high-g acceleration profiles. The presentation focused on advanced testing methodologies designed to evaluate the resilience and reliability of electronic components and sensor systems operating under extreme mechanical loads.

The research showcased Fraunhofer EMI’s capability to generate reproducible shock pulses reaching tens of thousands of g and to measure their effects using dedicated technologies such as the institute’s g-rec autonomous shock recorder and Photonic Doppler Velocimetry (PDV). These methodologies support the development and validation of robust electronic systems for demanding defence and security applications.

Participation in events such as Enforce Tac provides valuable opportunities to exchange knowledge with experts from across the defence and security community, helping ensure that OPERANT remains connected to the latest technological developments and operational requirements in the sector.
